The patent abstract reveals that the present invention provides an ashless rust inhibitor and a method for its preparation. The preparation method comprises the following steps: in a nonpolar solvent, mix dodecyl naphthalene sulfonic acid with dodecenyl succinic acid to obtain mixed acid A; then, blend polyamine with mixed acid A at a molar ratio of 0.5–2.0:1, add deionized water and methanol, and carry out the reaction until the solution reaches a neutral pH; subsequently, introduce methyl methacrylate and base oil into the reaction mixture, heat and distill, followed by vacuum distillation, until no significant distillate is produced—thus yielding the aforementioned ashless rust inhibitor. The invention also provides the ashless rust inhibitor prepared by the above-mentioned method. At the molecular level, the ashless rust inhibitor of the present invention integrates the advantages of both the dodecyl naphthalene sulfonic acid group and the dodecenyl succinic acid group, resulting in superior rust‑inhibiting performance. Moreover, this ashless rust inhibitor exhibits excellent synergistic effects when combined with extreme‑pressure anti‑wear additives.
